$15,000 NeighborhoodLIFT Grants for Cincinnati Home Buyers

Wells Fargo Home MortgageAs part of the resolution of the banking crisis Wells Fargo is now responsible to offer $15,000 grants to home buyers in Cincinnati. The program is called Wells Fargo NeighborhoodLIFT (Lets Invest For Tomorrow) and it is focused on  middle income families.

How Do I Get A $15,000 Grant for a Cincinnati Home?

In order to qualify for one of these grants you must meet a few basic criteria. Annual income of all persons 18 and older living in the home must be at or below 120% of the Greater Cincinnati Metro Area Median Income (FHA financing, a popular option for NeighborhoodLIFT financing, is limited to 115% of AMI. Other loan programs may have more restrictive income limits. 

 

What kinds of Properties Qualify for the NeighborhoodLIFT Grants?

Not all properties will qualify for the program. The idea is that the grants are for home owners not investors. Below are the 3 major criteria for the program.

  1.   The property must be inside Cincinnati city limits.
  2.   The home has to be owner-occupied by the buyers, it is not for rental properties.
  3.   The property can be a single family home, a townhouse, condo, 1-4 multi-unit property, or a Planned Unit Development (PUD)

How Do I Register for a NeighborhoodLIFT Grants?

On November 21 and November 22 from 10:am – 6:pm. The event is taking place at the Duke Energy Center downtown at 525 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202 . If you go to the event make sure that you bring all of the required documents for the NeighborhoodLIFT with you to the event. Part of the documentation you need is a preapproval letter from a lender. If you need a lender please call one of the lenders on my preferred mortgage lender list:  Double check your paperwork so when you meet one of the counselors you will be able to secure the grant if you qualify.
