One of our recent clients was buying a home and needed to replace their hot water heater. They made the choice to install a tankless hot water heater system. Unlike the traditional large tank water heaters these small and compact systems heat hot water on demand. While they do cost more up front they last longer and reduce energy consumption. Heating 60 gallons of hot water, and keeping it hot, is the second largest energy using activity in a home.
While it was the right choice for them it may not be for others. There are lots of advantages and disadvantages to consider. Double click on the info-graphic for more details and see which system could be right for your family when it is time for you to replace your old water heater.
