It is that time of year when Cincinnati real estate property tax bill hit the mail. If you pay your own taxes watch for the Hamilton County real estate tax bill for the 2nd half of 2012.  If your mortgage servicing company escrows (holds) your tax payment now is the time to make sure they are paying your property tax bill on time, and that they are collecting enough money from you to cover your tax bill.

Since property valuations change periodically it is important that whoever pays your property tax bill has the correct amount due.

It seems a little odd that we are paying our 2012 tax bill now in 2013. The reality is that we in Hamilton County, Ohio pay taxes in-arrears. It is like your power or water bill; your April power and water usage bill is due in May. The only difference here is July – December property taxes are due in mid June.
